There is no shortage of things to do nearby. Our location on the Lancaster Canal is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding Lancashire countryside, the Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales.

As well as walking, cycling, horse riding and golf, you can enjoy sailing, water sports, and lake cruises. Visit Lancaster Cathedral or Lancaster Castle and dungeons, amble around the elegant ornamental gardens of nearby Sizergh Castle or Levens Hall, or take a stroll along the promenade at Morecambe Bay to see the famous Eric Morecambe statue.

If you're looking to stay closer to home, Carnforth is a short walk away along the Lancaster Canal towpath, and next door to the marina is The Longlands Inn - an old fashioned Lancashire country pub and inn serving home-cooked food.

If you're in search of somewhere to spend the day with the little ones, then look no further. Greenlands Farm is home to a play barn, a farm shop, a retail village, and a cafe. Plus, there are plenty of animals to meet.

The city of Lancaster, and its magnificent visitor attractions, are just a 15-minute drive from the marina. One of our favourites places to visit is Williamson Park and the Ashton Memorial. This beautiful park is home to the iconic Ashton Memorial, enchanting woodland walks, play areas, and breathtaking views. Attractions include the Butterfly House, small animal zoo, and fully licensed café.

This historic railway station was featured in the classic 1945 film, Brief Encounter. It remains a working railway station. However, after being lovingly restored in 2003, it now pays tribute to the days gone by with Victorian memorabilia, vintage suitcases, and railway posters.

Ullswater ‘Steamers’ is an award-winning, environmentally accredited attraction that is celebrating over 150 years of operating cruises on England’s most beautiful lake. Cruises connect to some of the most famous walking routes, including the Ullswater Way and the famous William Wordsworth daffodils at Glencoyne Bay.

The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is one of the oldest and longest narrow gauge railways in England. The journey is from Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the Lake District National Park, across the estuary, through the hills to the final destination some seven miles up the line to Dalegarth for Boot Station.
